GRAND RAPIDS — In celebration of Earth Day, Brewery Vivant and Harmony Brewing Co. will host the Habitat for Humanity Brewery Challenge.
The event, which takes place Sunday from Noon to 5 p.m., features the two breweries competing to collect the most donations for the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
The “losing” brewery must weed the West Michigan Environmental Council’s green roof.
ReStore trucks will be on hand at both locations to accept donations. Accepted items include appliances, furniture, building supplies, lighting and plumbing fixtures, doors and windows (which must be double-paned), tools and flooring.
Customers will receive a coupon for $1 off any beer for each donated item (limit 5 coupons per customer). Both breweries will also donate $1 to the WMEAC for each donation.
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a home improvement resale store that offers new and gently used appliances, furniture, and building supplies to the public. All proceeds from the event benefit Habitat for Humanity of Kent County. For more information, visit ReStoreGR.org.
