5.9% ABV, Bottle
Appearance: Black with a small head.
Aroma: Smells a bit woodsy.
Taste: Smoky more than anything; not much heat at first. The heat picks up a bit towards the end of the glass.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.
I’m always interested to taste spicy beers, in this case, one of Right Brain’s recent bottle releases, Fire Starter Chipotle Porter. Surprisingly, though, the heat appears to be somewhat absent. This beer is smoky more than anything, as the heat really doesn’t come through until the end. That makes it much easier to drink, than say, Odd Side’s Mayan Mocha Stout, but it makes you wanting more at the same time.
