5.7% ABV, Draft
Appearance: Black with a small lingering head.
Aroma: Not much present — a little oaky and some vanilla.
Taste: Smoky, dry for a stout but a little spice at the end. A little chocolate too.
Mouthfeel: Medium to strong bodied.
The new Grand Rapids Brewing Company impressed with its Senator Lyon’s Stout — one of my favorite beers out of the brewery’s offerings. This dry stout is a solid representation of the style. While it certainly isn’t the most unique brew in the world, it impresses with its balance and subtle chocolate and vanilla flavors. A bit of smoke is also nice.
