Being a big Sanders Chocolates fan, I was ecstatic when the company teamed up with Detroit Brewing Company to make a flagship Saunders Chocolate Stout. The brew doesn’t disappoint. Featuring a bittersweet chocolate, the stout takes me into ice cream heaven, reminding me of a hot fudge sundae. Its dark chocolate-like qualities pair perfectly with some moderate carbonation, vanilla and caramel at the finish. While it’s not the most chocolate brew I’ve had (in fact, far from it), Sanders Chocolate Stout is very balanced, making it easier to drink than some of the sweet chocolate stouts I’ve tried.
