Appearance: Clear orange with a small head.
Aroma: Some grain, malts and citrus.
Taste: Lots of orange, with some lemon zest present as well. There’s a bit of peppery spice as well. Overall very tart.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with some carbonation and hops.
Brewery Vivant’s Zaison limited release is a refreshing take on summer. With its full orange smell and flavor, Zaison lives up to its description of being called a “super saison.” Orange is at the forefront of each sip, met by a bit of pepper and other spices, finishing with more orange. It was more tart and a bit heavier than I expected, though Zaison is nonetheless a great, refreshing summer brew.
