Available in bottles and cans, Atwater’s Grand Circus IPA is a welcome addition to the “controversial” style that’s come to be known as session IPA (some insist, with good reason, that a session IPA is really just a pale ale). At 5% ABV, Grand Circus is a little stronger than a true session beer but it packs a solid bitterness that should please hopheads yet maintains a great malt balance. It’s both light enough to enjoy a few on the porch (or by the lake) on a lazy summer day and heavy enough to satisfy a craving for a solidly flavorful brew. Great for those “in-between” times every beer lover faces at some point in his or her drinking career.
