Short’s celebrates their 5,000 batch with special beer release
Short’s Brewing Company always ushers in its milestones with proper pomp and circumstance. Coming into their 12th year of brewing, they’re kicking off 2016 with a celebration of their 5,000th batch of beer brewed and packaged at their Elk Rapids production facility. Opened in 2009, production and distribution has steadily increased to match the demand and enthusiasm of the craft industry in Michigan.
To make this event truly special, Short’s will be releasing the 5,000th batch in rare 22 ounce bottles, a never-done-before size by the brewery. Dubbed simply (and perfectly) Batch 5000, the beer will be a Triple American India Pale Ale, bringing about a delightful combination of orange and pineapple aromas with a sweet, bitter finish.
The tagline on the bottle reads, “Immaculately conceived from years of relentless determination,” an ode to the Short’s mission and continuing dedication to the ever-evolving Michigan craft scene.
“When I started thinking about reaching the milestone of Batch 5K, it brought back a lot of memories of the good old days,” says Head Brewer Tony Hansen. “A lot of which were celebrated yearly with a variety of huge IPAs brewed in celebration of our first five anniversary parties. So I really felt compelled to take parts and pieces from our best IPAs and create a monster triple IPA.”
Interested parties can get their hands on Batch 5000 at select account locations as well as at the Bellaire pub starting January 29, 2016. Being an exclusive release, the bottles will have a limited run, so if you cannot get to the pub, get in touch with your local bottle shop soon!
