Sietsema’s Bourbon Barrel Reserve

6.9% ABV, Draft

Appearance: Orangish gold with no head.
Aroma: Slight apple but bourbon smell is a bit more dominant.
Taste: A little funky, but well balanced with apple and bourbon.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied.

Sietsma’s Bourbon Barrel Reserve is a cider that takes the mill’s Orange Label cider and adds in a bit of bourbon for the aging process. What you get is a fairly dry cider with lots of bourbon funkiness. While most think of bourbon being aged in stouts and other darker beers, it works surprisingly well with a cider, albeit the flavor you get is drastically different, with the drink coming through with a lighter mouthfeel and some interesting flavors.

I wonder if the aged process requires a percentage of nitrogen and if ther is any oxygen left?
