6% ABV, Draft
Appearance: Caramel color with no head. Almost looks like apple cider.
Aroma: Minor tart smell.
Taste: Wheat, caramel and a hint of cherries.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.
While Sam Adams’ Cherry Wheat is often defined with its heavy sweetness, Atwater does the opposite with its Traverse City Cherry Wheat. This brew is well balanced, and surprisingly not real sweet despite flavors of caramel and cherry. Wheat is the dominant flavor, more than anything else, especially at the start of each sip. All in all this is a very drinkable brew despite what some might say about fruity beers.
