Bell’s Third Coast Old Ale
10.2% ABV, Bottle
Appearance: Reddish-brown, with a small head. Some minor lacing.
Aroma: Fruit with a bit of booze.
Taste: The booze is pretty evident at the forefront, with some maple, caramel and dark fruit flavors.
Mouthfeel: Strong bodied. Smooth but definitely a sipper.
Dark fruit, caramel, maple and malt come together in this somewhat boozy barleywine offered by Bell’s. I’ve rarely seen a brewery recommend you cellar a beer, but this is one that can just develop even more over time. The bit of warmth coming from the booze makes this brew a perfect late night sipper.
