13% ABV, Draft
Appearance: Light brown, limited carbonation, no head.
Aroma: Malty and bread-like. Prunes, raisins, cherries and other fruit scents give it a sweet aroma.
Taste: Initial malts and alcohol flavors lead to a clean, but slightly bitter finish. Still, Hubris mostly trails into a fruity aftertaste of prunes/plums. There are also some spicy, clove-like hints.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied, decently carbonated and clean.
This anniversary brew by Brewery Vivant is an excellent quadruple. The 13% ABV is hidden well by its not-so-subtle fruit flavor, though Hubris does get a little boozy once it warms up. It has a certain earthiness that makes it addicting.
